I found Walker Family Construction after they worked on another house in my neighborhood. I contacted several contractors, including Walker. Of those who responded, the prices ranged significantly. Walker was the only one who came out and actually talked to me about the project – a new portico for my front porch. The others provided estimates from a photograph.
Walker’s estimate was within my budget. I delayed the project initially, which led to scheduling challenges. But once we got it scheduled, they were here when they said they would be. Being an outdoor project, weather played a part in the work schedule.
The quality of the construction is excellent. They used materials that will be low maintenance, but still look nice. They took care to clean up each day. Each of the workers took pride in doing a good job and making sure I was happy with the results. Bill Walker was not happy with the metal roof that was ordered (a noticeable defect), and had the metal shop replace it.
I’m planning to do a similar project on the back of my house (at a later date) and would like Walker Family Construction to do that project as well.
